ATN PS31-3HPT Gen 3 Overview

The PS31-3HPT-A Night Vision Binocular from ATN is a compact and lightweight dual-tube goggle system designed to increase system resolution, significantly reduce head-borne weight, and improve system center of gravity. It features a 50° FOV for optimal visibility, and has a built-in IR illuminator. The tubes are auto gain-capable, allowing the system to adjust image brightness as situations on the ground dictate.

Independently-pivoting tube housings allow you to run the goggle in a binocular or monocular configuration. Using two tubes at once allows the eyes to create depth perception and increases the ease in maneuvering through terrain and obstacles as well as operating devices such as control panels and doorknobs. However, monocular configurations allow for ease in transitioning between various lighting conditions that often occur on the battlefield and cause operators to switch between night vision and weapon-mounted optics. Another benefit to the pivoting tube housings is the ability to mount the goggles against the front helmet surface when stowed. The ability to pivot the tube housings against a helmet surface creates an overall lower profile, increasing operator safety and equipment life.
